Issue

This article will explain how to add or remove buttons from the Spillman Flex toolbar.

Resolution

The toolbar on the Spillman Flex client can be customized so that you can have instant access to the modules that are most important for you. You can add modules that you use the most, and take away modules that you don't use to be able to access the modules you need for your login even quicker. These changes are applied to your login, and each user can customize it however they want.

Adding and removing buttons
To add buttons from the Tree Menu:
There are two main ways to add buttons to the toolbar. The first way is to find the module you need from the Spillman Flex Tree Menu. To access the Tree Menu, click on View, and then Show Tree Menus

The Tree Menu will pop up, and you can search for the module you would like to add. For this example, we'll move the Jail menu to the toolbar so that we can easily access it the next time we log in.

Scroll down until you see Jail Main Menu along with it's icon

Then you simply click and hold, and drag it up to the toolbar in the Spillman Flex client

When you bring the cursor over the toolbar, a little black bar will appear. This is showing you the spot that you will place the button.

Then, you simply let go of the mouse, and the new button will appear on your toolbar

This can be done with any module you would like to add.

To add buttons from a table:
You can also make a button by clicking and dragging the icon of the table you want, directly from the table itself. In this case, we'll move the names table to our toolbar. With the names table open (and any other table you would like), move your cursor over the man icon with Names underneath it, click and hold, and drag it onto the toolbar

To remove buttons from the toolbar:

If your toolbar is cluttered with modules that you never use or that you do not need, you simply click and drag the button off of the toolbar.

Customizing the toolbar:

You can also customize the toolbar in any way you'd like. For this article, we'll show you how to remove the text from the buttons on the toolbar, so that only the icons show. This is useful to be able to show more buttons and have more modules available at once.
Click on File, then Configure:

This will bring up another window with several settings available in Spillman. For our purpose, select the Appearance tab, and uncheck the box that says Show toolbar button text. This will remove the text from the toolbar, leaving only the icons. Be sure and hit Save to apply the changes

This leaves you with much more space available on the toolbar for more buttons

NOTE: From the same Appearance window in which you took off the text from the buttons, you can change the colors of CAD to make it more customizable to your liking.
