Symptom(s)
Mikrotik Groove is not connecting to the AP when on set to the 5GHz band, but will when set to 2.4GHz band.
Issue
The Supported Data Rates for the 5GHz Wifi Band are improperly set.
If the wrong data rate is set to Mandatory, it can prevent the Radio/Groove from connecting to the AP.
Example: 802.11a (5GHz Band) has 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, and 48 Mbps set to Mandatory, while 54 is set to Supported. When set to this, the Mikrotik Groove would not connect. When those settings became flipped, where only 54 Mbps was Mandatory while the rest were Supported, the Mikrotik Groove connected.
Environment
The Cisco APs are connected to a Cisco Controller.
Resolution
Customer IT will likely need to be involved to get access to the Cisco Controller so the Data Rates can be checked.
Below are examples from a Cisco Aironet AP Controller of what the browser interface may look like for both the 5GHz Band and 2.4GHz Band (Respectively).
If there are too many Data Rates set to Mandatory, we increase the odds of running into a problem with the Groove connecting to the SSID/AP.
