When “Infinite Key Retention” is disabled in the codeplug and secure keys are loaded to the radio, the secure keys are not erased when the radio is powered off.  When a radio containing secure keys is updated to enable “Infinite Key Retention”, the secure keys are erased.

If “Infinite Key Retention” is disabled, key erasure does not occur when the radio is powered off.  Keys present on the radio are erased when “infinite Key Retention” is changed from disabled to enabled.

To retain keys when enabling “Infinite Key Retention”, configure the radio first, then reload the keys.  To erase keys present after “Infinite Key Retention” is disabled, disconnect power from the radio for the time period specified for the radio model.
