Issue
New Wave Dispatch users requires a license and a unique password to log into their respective accounts. Wave Dispatch will also need a TOTP (Time-based One-time password ) as an additional layer of security. Wave Dispatch is required to use authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator on their smartphone or web browser. The goal is to reduce unauthorized access.

Resolution
CASE 1 -
- Using a smartphone to run Google authenticator or a similar authenticator such as :
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Okta
- Authy (from Twilio) for Android or iOS
- Use the QR code or the seed key below the QR code with any of the above MFA solutions to
set up your MFA token during the WAVE PTX Dispatcher registration process.-
- Set one - Choose a password
- Scan the QR code with the Google Authenticator app, enter provided OPT and click on submit
- Done

CASE 2 - The dispatcher cannot use a smartphone to receive the MFA token delivery
- Any TOTP-based MFA authenticator will work with the WAVE PTX Dispatch solution.
- From your browser, search them the Extensions online store or click on the following link for Chrome and Edge - https://chromewebstore.google.com/category/extensions?utm_source=ext_sidebar&hl=en-US
- There are several that will work on a PC environment:
○ Google Authenticator plugin for Chrome
○ Authy (from Twilio)
○ WinAuth for Windows - The easiest one to work with is called - Authenticator

Case 3 - Dispatch users need to log on to different PC stations without the use of a smartphone

- Search for about backing up / exporting your token in the help section
- Below is how to do it from the Authenticator App from Chrome and Edge
- Step one - open the authenticator
- Click on the gear icon for settings
- Click on back up
- Click on Download Backup File
- Log into another computer and open chrome or edge - install Authenticator
- open the authenticator
- click on settings
- click on back up
- click on import backup
- select the backup file and click ok , done.
