Mobile Video - 4RE - USB Drive Not Clearing Events from 4RE After Upload

Symptom(s)

1. Videos downloaded from the 4RE patrol vehicle system to a USB drive appear to complete successfully.

2. The USB drive remains nearly full, indicating events are not being cleared from the 4RE and the USB after upload.

Issue

1. The USB drive used for transferring events from the 4RE patrol vehicle system was corrupt.

2. The corrupted USB caused incomplete offloading of events from the 4RE system to the EL environment.

Environment

1. Product: WATCHGUARD 4RE

2. Version: ELX/EL4/EL5/ELC

Resolution

1. Verify system voltages on the 4RE to ensure they are operating correctly. You can check on the 4RE but navigating to Menu > Settings > Diagnose > Voltages.

-The Supply Voltage should be ~13V
-The Clock Battery should be ~3V

2. Test the USB drive by plugging it into the 4RE system to confirm detection.

-One way to check if the usb is corrupt is by trying to format it in the 4RE. NOTE FORMATTING THE USB WILL REMOVE EVENTS OFF OF THE USB ONLY. EVENTS STILL ON HDD OF 4RE WILL STILL BE PRESENT AND BE ABLE TO REWRITE THEMSELVES ONCE USB IS RECOGNIZED AGAIN IN THE 4RE.
-If the USB drive is detected but events fail to clear, replace the USB drive with a new one.

5. Format the new USB in the 4RE.

6. Ensure the new USB begins transferring events and clearing them from the 4RE system. You can monitor this by navigating to Menu > Transfer > USB.

7. Monitor the clearing process to confirm resolution of the issue.
