Outcome/Recommendation
1. Access Control Panels and (under Programs), select Uninstall a program.
2. Right-click on the 3 McAfee components (one at a time) and uninstall them in the exact order they are listed:
- McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention
- McAfee Endpoint Security Web Control
- McAfee Endpoint Security Platform
3. Leave Control Panels OPEN…..just minimize it
4. Open a Command line window (Run as Administrator)
5. In the command window, type:
C:\ProgramFiles\McAfee\Agent\x86\frminst.exe /forceuninstall
6. Access Control Panels again and refresh the installed components by clicking in the control panel and selecting F5 on the keyboard.
7. Ensure the following McAfee components are no longer present:
- McAfee Agent
- McAfee Endpoint Security Platform
- McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention
- McAfee Endpoint Security Web Control
8. Reboot the computer and apply this same procedure to the next Windows device.
