Topic/Objective
The agency needs to set up its M500 Interview Recording System (MIRS) using Pelco IP Cameras.
Scope/Context
Pre-Requisites

- Current supported IP Camera Models - "Pelco - Sarix Pro 4 Dome / Pelco - IDL303-PHI, IDL302-FXI / Axis P1265"
- Pelco Camera Configuration Tool: https://www.pelco.com/partners/technical-partners/videoxpert-integrations/camera-configuration-tool
- Video Manager Evidence Library
- Video Manager Evidence Library Cloud
- Video Manager EX
- Suitable PoE
Note: An IP camera, which stands for "Internet Protocol camera", is a digital video camera that transmits and receives video footage over a network like the internet or a local area network (LAN), allowing users to access live footage remotely from any device with an internet connection; essentially, it's a security camera that connects to a network instead of a dedicated recording device like older analog CCTV systems.
Note: Pelco cameras support 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE). With the PoE standard 48V 802.3af or 802.3at, it is considered to use active POE. The device will check the power coming in, and if it doesn't meet the device requirements, it won't power up.
Outcome/Recommendation
1. Install your M500 with the following connections.
2. Select the MIRS deployment mode on startup.
Note: Up to 2x IP and 3x MSI M500 cameras can be supported at the same time. IP cameras are only supported in the "Interview Room" deployment Mode.
M500 may need to be formatted through "maintenance mode" (KB0015375) to get to "deployment mode" if the M500 was already previously configured or set up.
Select "Interview Room", and Apply & Reboot.
3. Use the Pelco Camera Configuration Tool to find your Pelco cameras on the network.
4. Connect to them via IP + Web Browser, login via default password (username admin, password admin)
5. Adjust the camera to the optimal viewing angle via the Live View.
You can rotate the camera view via the Imaging tab.
6. All IP Cameras must be set to 1080p. This is done via the AV/Streams tab.
The Modular camera has 2 imagers that must be adjusted if in use.
7. Save the Unicast URI for each camera for use on your M500 Device Configuration.
8. Update the Admin password to a secure password setting under Network and Security -> Users.
9. Set IP Cameras 1 and 2 to 1080p in your MIRS configuration.
- For Video Manager Evidence Library:
Complete your network defaults configuration and device IP info, and then add your IP camera configurations to the M500 Device tab.
Once your changes are complete, load your configuration to the M500 Interview Room System and verify that the IP Cameras are online. - For Video Manager EX
Create M500 Device Profile under Admin -> Devices -> Device Profiles -> Filter by Family -> M500 + Create Profile.
Enable streaming + Enable Stream Outside of Recording
Create a new vehicle network profile.
Configure network settings for Local Area Network and Interview Recording system.
