Symptom(s)
- M500 units are installed but not configured.
- USB devices are not recognized by the M500 units.
- Attempts to format the M500 drive do not resolve the issue.
Issue
- USB devices are not detected by the M500 units even when inserted correctly.
- Persistent issues with the USB recognition despite testing multiple USB drives, including CENTON drives.
- Formatting the M500 drive does not resolve the configuration issue.

Resolution
1. Verify that the configuration files are in the correct file path.
2. Ensure the M500 units are powered on before inserting the USB device.
3. Ensure you use the approved Centon brand USB 128 GB drives shipped with the M500.
4. Format the USB drive using supported tools and methods, ensuring it complies with the required file system.
The easiest method for formatting the USB is navigating to Home > Utilities > Format USB > Start Format on the M500 while the USB is inserted.
5. If the issue persists after the above steps, initiate the RMA (Return Material Authorization) process to replace the defective unit.
