Issue

To login to the Mobile database you will need to setup a server command to login to your Mobile database. This article is intended for agencies using Spillman 6.1 and below. Since Spillman 6.2 and Spillman 6.3, this functionality has been built into the software.

Resolution

Follow these first few steps first, then follow Unix or Windows specific settings:

  • To do that, first login to Spillman and then access the File --> Configure menu. You can alternatively type config at the command line to open the configuration window.

  • Once the configuration window is open you want to look for the server commands section. If the New button is grayed out, you will need to become super-user (SU) to make changes and add a new configuration. If the New button is not grayed out, click the button to add a new configuration.

  • You will then need to fill out the server commands. It isn't too difficult to do. Name your configuration something descriptive such as your mobile version. The Spillman Server Command field follows this syntax:

    [Path-to-the-Spillman-script] @ip -s [Mobile-version] hub

The following examples illustrate how to setup the configuration for both Unix and Windows platforms and several versions of Spillman:
Unix/Linux

  • Spillman 4.6 - Mobile 4.5 example:

  • Spillman 6.1 - Mobile 4.6 example:

NOTE: If your Mobile version is Mobile 4.3, you would enter mobile43 as your Mobile version.  If you are connecting to a Windows server, you would enter M43 as the mobile environment or M45 based on your Mobile version.

Windows
