CC Admin - Reset password for users

Issue

The following article provides the steps necessary to reset a user password within any of the CommandCentral apps.  There is no password administration available within CommandCentral, so the following method is the only way to reset a password. Forgotten passwords and new users who didn’t see the welcome email are the usual reporters of this issue.

Environment

  • CommandCentral

Resolution

  1. Enter URL of the app you want to reset the password for (admin.commandcentral, vault.commandcentral)
  2. While on login page click on Trouble Signing On

  3. The user will be redirected to the following Account Recovery page. Enter here the email address that was used to set up the user account and click on the blue Send Request button

  4. The user will be redirected to step two of the Account Recovery process. CommandCentral will email a security token from do-not-reply@imw.motorolasolutions.com that the user must enter and then click the blue Validate button.

  5. The user will be redirected to step three of the Account Recovery process. Here they will create a new password and click on the blue Reset button.

  6. The password does have criteria that must be met. If the user enters a password that doesn’t follow this criteria they will be redirected to the following response.  Instruct the user to follow the criteria and try entering a new password.

  7. Once successful the user will be redirected to the final step of Account Recovery where they can click the blue Continue button to access the app. They will also receive a second email from do-not-reply@imw.motorolasolutions.com confirming they have successfully set a new password for the account

  8. Users will be able to use a new password to access all CommandCentral apps.
