Export a HAR file

This document will walk you through how to export a HAR file.

Environment

Product/Application: You can do this for any of the applications that use google chrome
Module: NA
Build/Version: NA

Resolution

Problem Statement/Process: You can export a HAR file for any applications. But this is especially important for Aware SaaS. This helps Development determine root cause and helps them investigate the issue further. 

 

Symptoms: There aren’t any set symptoms that you need to know for this. I export a HAR file if you are dealing with an issue in Chrome and you need to escalate to dev. 

 

How to

  1. Open a google chrome window
  2. Navigate to the url of the application where the issue is taking place. For example, aware.commandcentral.com
  3. Login as the user that experiencing the issue
  4. Click on the Network tab
  5. Clear the network (Click on the circle with a line through it at the top of dev tools next to the red dot). You will see a message saying “recording network activity, perform a request or hit control R to record the reload.”
  6. Refresh the page
  7. Make sure you have all the lines highlighted
  8. Right click in the box of highlighted line and click on ‘Save all as HAR with Content’
  9. It will now want to save as aware.commandcentral.har with the HAR file (.har) as the format. Make sure it says .har at the end. You can rename the file your the name of the agency and INC number.har. For example GlendaleINC1321122.har
