Symptom(s)
When performed talkgroup bulk cloning, error “Bulk group cloning operation failed. Please contact support if you continue to see this issue.” appeared in the notification.
Issue
[WAVE PTX] Talkgroup Bulk Clone failed, the existing talkgroup was being removed instead of adding a new talkgroup.
Environment
Wave on Cloud, All WAVE clients, Bulk Clone
Resolution
The user was pre-set with below setting:-
To check and verify the emergency status, please follow below steps:
- Go to the customer account> Users tab
- Under Contacts and Features, select Manage> Features tab
- Under Emergency, verify the Emergency Initiation status and also check if any talkgroup was assigned as Destination ( refer picture above).
If NO, bulk clones of talkgroup will have no issue.
But, if YES and there is a talkgroup was assigned as a selected talkgroup.
Then it will caused below impact to bulk clone

Error "Bulk group cloning operation failed. Please contact support if you continue to see this issue.”
Talkgroup Bulk Clone failed, the existing talkgroup was being removed instead of adding a new talkgroup.
Bulk cloning mechanism, once the clone was initiated all the existing talkgroup in cloned target(selected) users will be deleted before adding back the same as the clone's source.
In this case, the Emergency talkgroup is not being deleted due to the user setting that talkgroup as an emergency talkgroup destination.
Hence, the cloning operation failed and a new talkgroup was not added.
Summary: Enabled of emergency initiation will block and the bulk clone function.
Workaround: Removed/disabled the emergency function before performing bulk clone.
