Symptom(s)
APX Radio Mixed Vote Scan fails to work correcty, subscriber units are reverting to talk around channel randomly
APX subscriber remains in a Direct transmit mode upon a PTT
Issue
The subscriber is selected to a personality with Mixed Vote Scan Enable checked and a direct frequency configuration in the Frequency Options list.
The user turns off Scan with a menu, switch or button, which results in the subscriber reverting to the Legacy Vote Scan functionality since the radio is essentially selected to a Mixed Vote Scan system.
After the subscriber receives activity on the direct frequency, the subscriber continues to transmit in Direct mode upon subsequent transmit attempts, which will result in the subscriber utilizing the transmit frequency of the repeater as the transmit frequency. Consequently, the subscriber remains in Direct mode until it receives on a non-Direct frequency channel and the user performs a mode change.
Resolution
Workaround:
Keeping Scan turned on through the menu, switch or button will keep the subscriber in a Mixed Vote Scan mode, which will prevent the issue from being experienced.
