Customers may report that the Impres 2 battery is hard to slide onto an APX radio.  They may also make statements about the battery having a tight fit on the radio.

Black D-Ring

The black D-rings are made from a tougher material which forms a tighter fit requiring the lubricant.   These D-Rings come from the factory lubricated with a DeoxIT solution but over time the lubrication may wear off making the battery more difficult to slide onto the radio.

Reapply lubrication to the D-Ring using a DexoIT pen following these steps:

1. Wipe battery contacts with Microfiber cloth or lint-free cloth. (Fig. 1)
2. Take the DeoxIT pen and apply lubricant with several back-and-forth wipes until the contact surface appears wet. (Fig. 2)
3. Next, apply lubricant to the newly installed battery D-Ring. (Fig.3)
4. Allow everything to air dry for 2-3 minutes.
