In APX CPS, how does the Import from Console feature work, and what are the limitations?

Issue

Import from console is one of 2 import functions for the APX CPS that will allow a user to migrate a call list into a codeplug.

Import from console will allow a user to import a properly formatted .csv file into CPS and apply the contacts to the UCL (Unified Call List).

Environment

APX CPS

APX Radio Management

Resolution

There are 2 primary steps to using the Import from Console function.

STEP 1 Export or build the .csv file

1) Export from the Provisioning Manager by navigating to Subscriber>IVD radios and select 'CSV report' and 'current view'

OR

2) Using the attached .CSV files as a template, build a contact/radio ID list in a program suitable to editing a .csv file.

STEP 2 Import the file to CPS

With the target codeplug open in CPS, select Codeplug>Import from Console from the ribbon menu

From the 'Import Call list from Console' menu,

Select Browse and use the file explorer window to select the appropriate .csv file.

Select which trunking system in the radio the call list should be associated with.

NOTE: If the same contact needs to be associated with multiple trunking systems, they will have to imported for each trunking system.  As the radio ID's may be different on different systems, it may be necessary to export/build the list for each system

Once the proper information is verified, select Import.

After the job is complete, observe the Import/Export report at the bottom of the screen:

NOTE: Check the invalid fields report for any issues.
