CommandCentral - VMEL & CC Evidence Integration

Issue

Watchguard uses Microsoft Azure (Azure) for its authentication / setup.

If an Agency uses Active Directory (AD), and does not have Azure, Watchguard will set them up with an Azure and the Agencies AD will sync with their Azure.

This is normally configured / set up by Watchguard upon initial setup.

The User is set up in Microsoft Azure (Azure).

Verify Security Group settings in Evidence Library Cloud

Note: Groups must match what is configured in ELC & CC Evidence.

Resolution

Azure Active Directly.

Navigate to https://azure.Microsoft.com or the specific agency URL.

From the upper right-hand corner of the page, select Sign in.

Once they are logged in, they should choose the following link:

Once the Admin User is signed in, select the Users under Manage on the left side.

If the User already exists, perform a search for the user account they are having issues with.

Click on the hyperlink for the User, which will then take them to the specific user page.

Watchguard uses the User Principal Name (UPN). CommandCentral uses the Email Address.

Note: If the Agency is using onmicrosoft.com, this just means their Users and Groups are created and distributed by Azure, not by AD.
It is not required to have this in their Account.

Select the Properties tab on the User Page.

Scroll to the Email field under Contact Information.  The email field should be filled in with their email address associated to their CommandCentral user account.

Once the email field has been verified, go back to the Overview tab and select Group member.

Make sure the user is part of at least ONE of their groups:

Example: (Depending on what they have setup.)

WG_Admin
WG_Patrol
WG_Supervisor

If the user is not part of one of the WG_ groups, you will need to use the +Add membership option, search for the appropriate WG_ group and make the selection.

Evidence Library Manager.

Once the user(s) are set up in the Azure Active Directory correctly with the groups, Evidence Library security will need to be set correctly.

Under the Admin drop-down, the user will select Organization Management.

Then select Security on the left side. This will take the user to the Roles and Groups in ELC. At the right side of the WG_ Group, select the Pencil icon (Edit)

There will be Groups on the left side and Permissions on the right side of the “Edit Role” Box. Select the Group on the left and within the Permissions box. The CCExport option will need to be selected for Users to have the option to export to CommandCentral.

This will ensure the User Group has the Export to CommandCentral option for their Events

CommandCentral.

Navigate to https://CommandCentral.com and login.
Verify the User setup & the Groups permissions for access to CommandCentral Evidence.
