Customer complaint is that multiple MCD5000 desksets have the same MAC address.  This is a problem since they are trying to setup a VLAN to extend a consolette via a VPN tunnel over DSL and it is getting confused with the duplicate MAC addresses and the layer 2 VLAN segregation failures.

The only reason to use the internal port is to interface to a single Consolette. Any other configuration involving the internal port is not supported

Any network switch used between the Consolette and the deskset should be 'dumb'. It should not have layer2 capability.

If the proper configuration is used then the MAC address would not matter
 
The attempt to extend the consolette via the VPN tunnel over DSL is considered not supported
