Error 01/42 on Professional Tier radios that do not support Service & Support Feature(SL series)

Cloning a MOTOTRBO Professional Tier radio that has M2024 firmware with an older archive codeplug could receive either Service code Error 0802 or Error 01/42 after the radio has been cloned. 

This is working as designed due to new security feature being introduced in the M2024.01 firmware release. 

Before cloning using the archive codeplug double check to see if any of the security features below is being used, if so please re-enter the password or authentication inputs again and save the codeplug:

● Over The Air Programming Key (OTAP)

● Password & Lock

● Front Programming Password

● Authentication Passphrase

● Restricted Access to System Key (RAS)

● Privacy Key (Basic)

● Privacy Key (Enhanced)

● Symmetric Key (AES)

● Pre-Shared Key (PSK)

● Authentication Key (Capacity Max Features)

One thing to keep in mind is that for Over The Air Programming Key (OTAP) feature even though it is not being currently used, the feature is enabled in the backend. For place holder purposes please enter either a character or number under key value. Once the necessary update has been placed please select Save, then you will be able to proceed to clone with that archive codeplug. Once the changes have been made you wouldn't have do re-enter the password or authentication inputs again. MTN has been released based on the new service code.
