Issue
DC200 Dock controller needs to be configured.
Environment
VMEX cloud or On-Premise environments.
Resolution
To configure a DockController:
- Plug the Ethernet cable into the DockController's Ethernet port
- Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into any available port on the network switch
- Plug the DockController's power cable into its power socket on the dock, and the other end into main power
- Ensure the power LED and ‘A’ LED both go green
- On VideoManager, navigate to the Devices tab.
- Select the DockController's pane
- Click Advanced in the top right-hand corner
- Click Generate DockController Config
- In the Serial field, enter the DockController's unique serial number
- --This can be found on the bottom of the DockController.
- In the Device name field, enter the name by which this DockController will be known in VideoManager
- The Host field should be pre-populated with VideoManager's webserver
- If SSL is set to On, all media passed through this DockController will have an extra layer of encryption.
- If Use static IP is set to On, enter an IP address for the DockController.
- From the Security dropdown, select whether the DockController will be protected with 802.1x (WPA2-PEAP-MSCHAPV2) or not.
- Click Generate
- --The file will be saved to the PC's default downloads location
- Plug the USB drive into the same PC
- --The USB drive must have FAT32 format
- Drag and drop the DockController configuration file into the root folder of the USB drive
- Safely eject the USB drive
- Plug the USB drive into one of the two DockController USB ports next to the function button
- --Do not plug the USB drive into one of the six DockController USB ports on the front of the device
- The DockController's LEDs will flash quickly to indicate it has received the configuration. They will then go out and turn back one by one. All 3 LEDs should be lit up if successful
- Remove the USB from the DockController, and it is now ready to have docks and body-worn cameras connected.
