Unable to install APX RM error when installing the RM Updater Service "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"

Both installing or uninstalling the RM Updater Service returned the error. The network resource is available and folder permissions are allowed.

There may be multiple causes of this error, the cause listed here is registry file corruption.

RM Suite downloaded and unzipped directly to the desktop

This is a Microsoft error. Enter the error and search microsoft.com for additional possible causes.

The recommendations below are taken from microsoft.com which refers to the link here.

1) First attempt to uninstall, download a fresh copy of the program and reinstall. If the issue remains, the program can be repaired from Apps & Features by clicking Modify and choosing the Repair option.

2) Make sure the Windows Installer service is running from services.msc.

If these steps above fail to resolve the issue, a corrupt registry file may be the cause.

1 – Search REGEDIT in Windows search.

2 – Click on registry editor from the search result.

3 – Before proceeding with the registry editor, take a backup.

Go to the following location in Registry editor.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products

4 – Click each registry SUB key under products to find out the program with which you are having this problem.

To find the subkey of the problematic program, double click on the subkeys one by one and double click on the ProductName on the right side to see its value data. It will be the one with the program name in it. Continue clicking under every sub key and find the problematic program sub key folder.

5 – Right click and delete that Sub-Key folder once you find it.

6  - Close registry editor and restart PC.
