Symptom(s)
1. Network port status shows 'Unknown' on the Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) web interface of the Primary Core Server (PCS).
2. However, the port light indicates normal operation.
Issue
1. Network port status is not displayed correctly on the Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) web interface of Primary Core Server (PCS).
2. The port light remains operational despite the status issue.
3. It was noticed that the PCS iLO system information page Server is stuck in "POST" for many days. There is a risk of unexpected behavior if we proceed with the "reset iLO" option with that condition. Refer Diagram 1 below:
Environment
- Dimetra X Core D9.2.0
- HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO)
Resolution
As the server is stuck in "POST" there is a risk of unexpected behavior if we proceed with the "reset iLO" option with that condition.
Recommended switching over the application to Secondary Core Server (SCS) and performing the following action plan.
NOTE: There will be downtime while switching over applications to Secondary Core Server (SCS).
Here is the action plan:
- Perform backup in DESU for all application servers and other necessary data.
- Switch-over all application servers to Secondary Core Server (SCS).
- Reset iLO in Primary Core Server (PCS).
- If the issue persists, perform a power cycle to the affected server (PCS).
- If the issue persists, then upgrade the iLO firmware to the latest available from DIMETRA Security Update Service site. There is a link to download firmware and user guide to perform the firmware upgrade in the DIMETRA Security Update Service site.
