Issue
1. The M500 device was not syncing with the V700 body-worn camera due to a connection issue.
2. The WiFi base failed to acquire an IP address, which interrupted communication between the devices.
3. Troubleshooting steps, including replacing cables and bases, as well as swapping out the DVR, were unsuccessful.
Environment
1. Product: M500
2. Category: In-Car Video
3. Firmware Version: EL5 2025.3.25
Resolution
1. Attempt to reboot the M500 and Sierra Wireless (SW) and observe if the WiFi base cable is connected.
2. If available, replace the cable if the previous step failed to work.
3. If the above step remedies the issue, request a return of the failed cable.
4. If the issue persists after the above step, check the settings on the cellular router and ensure the network settings for your agency are correct. Examples of issues we have seen include improper DHCP lease ranges or TTLs, the Cellular router being on a different network as the rest of the devices in the car, or connections being loose or improperly seated.
