MOTOTRBO SLR5700 Repeater Not Connecting to Linked Capacity Plus System

Error

- Repeater at site ID 5 in a six-site Linked Capacity Plus system could not connect to the master site.

- The repeater's link light was flashing continuously.

- RDAC could not connect to the master repeater.

- Local calls were operational at the affected site, but the repeater could not link to the system.

Environment

- Product: MOTOTRBO SLR5700 Repeaters

- Firmware version: R20.25.01.10

- Software version: 2.151.292.0

- System type: Linked Capacity Plus (6 sites, single repeater per site)

- Network configuration: NAT network with HP MSR2003 routers

Root Cause

  • The repeater at site 5 did not have a proper LE Authentication key configured. The master repeater codeplug showed a null symbol indicating that there is a valid key, but in the peer site 5 repeater LE Authentication was blank. Due to the field being blank that indicates there was no key entered. Please reference screenshot below:

Workaround/Fix

1. Ensure that all repeaters have a valid LE Authentication key:

- Check the repeater codeplug for a null symbol in the LE Authentication key field.

- If the key is unknown, remove the null symbol and/or generate a new key.
