Basic Overview: Reboot Linux Based Server


Issue

Linux Based Server requires a reboot

Environment

Linux Server

Resolution

This is not all encompassing, some devices like the Zone Controller require extra prep, by putting the server in Standby. Customer scheduling/ approval is required.

1. Login in the Linux Server

2. Run the command "admin_menu"

3. Select "Application Administration"

4. Select  "Manage Application Status"

5. Select  "Disable Application" it may take a moment to disable

 - All RHEL servers do not have a disable option

 - You can verify it is disabled, by selecting 3 "Display Application Status"

6. Select Option"b" until you are back to the  main menu

7. Select "OS Administration"

8. Select "Reboot Server" then wait for the system to reboot

9. Log back into the Server

10. Run the command "admin_menu"

11. Select "Application Administration"

12. Select  "Manage Application Status"

13. Select "Enable Application" it may take a moment to Enable.

 - All RHEL servers do not have an Enable option.

14. Verify everything is operational again.
