Topic/Objective
ZC Console SCP 2 Down - DOWN TRANSMIT RETRY FAILURE
Scope/Context
- DIMETRA Express R2.4 SER (R02.04.07)
- Web Dispatch Console
Background/Details
It was noticed that the Warning alarm “ZC Console SCP 2 - NOT IN USE CONSOLE DISCONNECT” reported in the Snapshot - Event history ZC of the DIMETRA Express System Health tab every time the web Dispatch Console is logged off. However, when the web Dispatch Console is being logged off for a very long time, then the critical alarm “ZC Console SCP 2 Down - DOWN TRANSMIT RETRY FAILURE” will be reported. The Warning alarms cleared to a normal state upon re-login to the web Dispatch Console, indicating the issue is likely related to disconnection. Refer Diagram 1.

Outcome/Recommendation
The Warning alarm ZC Console SCP 2 - NOT IN USE CONSOLE DISCONNECT is an expected alarm to be reported in the Snapshot - Event history ZC of the DIMETRA Express System Health tab every time the web Dispatch Console is logged off and it will be cleared to a normal state upon re-login to the web Dispatch Console.
The Critical alarm, ZC CONSOLE SCP 2 - DOWN TRANSMIT RETRY FAILURE could mean that the ZC Console Site Control Path indicated is down. Please check network connectivity to site and networking components. There is also a possible hardware or connection problem.
Please note that the DIMETRA Express R2.4 Lifecycle ends in 2024.Q3. It means the Engineering team no longer provides root cause analysis and no more software fix for these R2.4 releases. The technical support team still provides incident recovery, information request and no more root cause analysis.
It is strongly recommended upgrading the system from the current software version R2.4 to the latest R2.6 SER 2. The latest version includes the certified OS patches, Defect fixes and cyber security updates: general hardening and vulnerability fixes.
