Background/Details
The firmware can be applied to a standalone repeater or upgraded to match a Mobile for compatibility after the Mobile's firmware has been upgraded.
Outcome/Recommendation
Applying Firmware to VR.
- Power up the Vehicular Repeater (VR).
- On your PC, create a Firmware folder.
- Download the desired firmware release file, available at Motorola Solutions Customer Hub and Partner Hub.
- Using the USB programming cable, connect the powered-up VR to the USB port on your PC.
- Launch FRC.
- On the Futurecom Repeater Configuration launch window, click on the Tools tab
Flash download utility window opens.
7. On the Flash Downloader Utility window, select File → Open , or press shortcut key Ctrl + O.
8. Navigate to the saved firmware folder location. Select the *.cfg file and click Open.
9. To start the firmware upgrade process, click Download on the Flash Downloader Utility window
Result: The download process is displayed in the Application Messages section. Wait until you receive the message indicating the download is completed successfully.
- Upgrading firmware: To migrate from a lower to a higher version, make sure the VR firmware has been applied.
Procedure:
1. Use FRC to read the VR. Perform one of the following options:
- Select Repeater → Load Data from Repeater.
- Press shortcut key, F2.
The FRC detects the new firmware is running and converts the EEPROM map. The following dialog pops up:
2.Click Proceed.
Configurator dialog prompt pops up.
3. Click OK to proceed.
